- The C4 is the first generation of Audi's sporty luxury sedan, the S4. It was marketed from 1991 to 1994. The Audi S4 is based on the body of the 100 C4. The “base” version has a 220hp, 5-cylinder 2.2 turbo engine. For its final year in the brand's catalog, the S4 gets a big V8 developing 230hp.
