Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este is one of the world's premier automotive events. Held every year along Lake Como in Cernobbio, Italy - drawing classic car enthusiasts from around the globe who come to witness some of the finest automobiles ever crafted - it attracts classic car enthusiasts who come out from around the globe just to experience this unforgettable event.

Since 1929, the Concorso d'Eleganza has showcased some of the world's most exquisite vehicles. As one of the first events to include concept cars and prototypes alongside historical models, its legacy lives on today as an accessible celebration of automotive tradition for everyone.

This year's event will showcase many exciting new exhibits. BMW will feature their BMW Concept Skytop vehicle - an outstanding design study which encapsulates their rich legacy while featuring modern technology for an unmistakably BMW experience.

Concorso d'Eleganza offers more than an impressive collection of historic and concept cars; in fact, there will also be various attractions at the event, including BMW Art Cars created by internationally-acclaimed artists designed to highlight the beauty of automobiles. These special vehicles will make their first debut appearance.

At this year's Concorso d'Eleganza event, an expert jury will select winners for each category and award them with prizes from A. Lange & Sohne as part of a partnership agreement since 2012; one such prize being an 1815 Chronograph watch! As part of the prize package offered this year to this year's winner is also an additional special gift: they will also receive an A. Lange & Sohne watch with special features made especially for this prize holder - making the prize even sweeter!

The Lineup

Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este attracts automotive enthusiasts from across the world for an eventful weekend that celebrates beauty and history of automotive engineering. From iconic Ferraris and Bugattis from decades past to futuristic prototypes that offer glimpses into what lies ahead for automotive engineering in future decades - this year's event promises to be a feast for the senses!

Every year, Historic Cars and Concept Cars are carefully curated into an event at the Concorso d'Eleganza that showcases tradition with innovation. In 2023's event, highlights included a tribute to Porsche 911; an exhibit honoring Rolls-Royce's 100th anniversary of timeless elegance; and a display celebrating Maserati's 110 years of grace and power.

These cars will be judged in multiple categories, including Design, Tradition, and Innovation. Finalists will receive prizes that honor their overall excellence as well as their distinct individual qualities. As with previous events, our judging panel is composed of automotive experts representing diverse fields.

Judgements take place on Saturday; on Sunday the public can enjoy the show. Legendary vehicles from Lake Como's Grand Hotel Villa d'Este will parade across its grounds to Cernobbio where guests will have an opportunity to mingle with distinguished Jury members as they go about their work and admire all of the stunning entries submitted for judging.

A spectacular parade of automobiles will be followed by an evening filled with music, fashion and culinary treats - including award presentations to winning cars! If you are an avid collector or simply starting out, this Concorso d'Eleganza event will spark your passion and introduce you to classic car collecting!

The Jury

Every year on Lake Como's shores lies the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este: an extravagant beauty contest held within two magnificent Neoclassical palaces; Villa d'Este and Villa Erba. Their exquisite surroundings create a captivating environment in which to showcase history-making vehicles, in addition to expressive prizes awarded at expressive prices, plus prototype carrassements eligible for Design Award consideration.

Helmut Kas, Head of BMW Group Classic and President of Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este (left), and William Lyon, Chairman and CEO of A. Lange & Sohne (right), both highly respected judges will serve on this year's jury room panel at Concorso d'Eleganza 2024. Their combined wealth of automotive knowledge makes them ideal judges to select prizewinning vehicles during this year's event.

Concorso d'Eleganza 2024 will showcase not only historic cars but also the legendary Amici & Automobili - WHEELS & WEISSWURSCHT gathering format, which brings together diverse automobiles and clubs in its parkland of Villa Erba on Lake Como.

World-famous brands will showcase their vehicles on the beautiful grounds of Villa d'Este for only the fourth time since opening to the public four years prior. You'll have a rare chance to admire Historic Cars alongside breathtaking Concept Cars side-by-side and watch our esteemed Jury go about its work first hand!

Judging will be performed based on a jury's evaluation of each vehicle entered in the show, taking into account quality, elegance and uniqueness as criteria for selection. Award winners will be announced at the conclusion of each show and published in our official catalogue; prize-winning cars will then be displayed prominently in Villa d'Este courtyard to allow all visitors to enjoy them.

The Awards

Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este stands as a crowning achievement among historical automotive pageants, garnering worldwide renown as one of the world's premier and exclusive events. Beginning in 1929 and held annually since on Lake Como's glittering shores at Grand Hotel Villa d'Este and Villa Erba since April or May - since 1929 this event has long been celebrated for its beautiful setting, impeccable hospitality, efficient organization, enthusiastic audience participation, international press coverage as well as elegant originality and preservation status of prized automobiles taking part.

Concorso d'Eleganza has consistently introduced innovative features to engage its passionate audience, such as the Gran Premio Referendum which allows spectators to cast votes for special awards. Over time, the Concorso has also elevated legendary Italian carrozzeria into modern maestros whose flamboyant designs become masterpieces of kinetic sculpture.

At its 2024 edition, the Concorso will recognize a number of extraordinary vehicles such as the Duesenberg SJ Speedster, Ferrari 250 GT LWB and Jaguar D-Type V12 Le Mans. As part of its centennial celebrations at Concorso d'Eleganza, BMW will pay special homage to itself with an exhibition featuring limited editions of its Z8 sports car as well as rare M1 Procar LM that appeared as James Bond's roadster in 1971's The Spy Who Loved Me movie. Both vehicles will receive the Trofeo BMW Group awards; winning models will be unveiled during a ceremony held in Villa d'Este's ballroom on Sunday afternoon while exhibition will run until Monday evening - ticket sales have started online for these events!
